Recognizing the decline of student mental health, fundamental life skills education, and accountability among administration and teachers, we aim to establish a new standard for the future of schooling that preserves the greatest educational practices of the past while also developing responsible, intelligent, and optimistic use of the technology of the present.
Our character curriculum is based on the 4 E’s: Excellence, Emotional Strength, Engagement, and Etiquette
Excellence refers to cultivating the skills needed to rise to the top of one’s field. We study and venerate those who have achieved excellence, in the present and in the past, as mentors to guide us to reach the upper limits of our potential.
Emotional Strength requires us to calmly face words and outcomes that do not always align with what we want. We aim to instill in all members of our community an internal locus of control, wherein we cannot control everything around us, but we can control our responses and embrace moments of difficulty as periods of growth
Engagement is focus and accountability for our work and goals. It requires empathy and awareness of our community and the greater world beyond, as well as of ourselves.
Etiquette means that we treat others how we would like to be treated. We instill respect and the guidelines of proper decorum in our community, as we see this as tantamount to success.
Our Mission
The Wolfe School motto, Amor Discendi, translates to “the love of learning,” which we hold sacred in all our students. By fostering and fiercely protecting intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and self-sufficiency in our entire student body and staff, we aim to ensure that school is a place that empowers young people on their journey to self-discovery and higher learning.
Our Story
The Wolfe School was founded as an independent day school in Los Angeles, California by Ernest Wolfe IV in 2023, at first just for a single student. For over 13 years, starting at the age of 19, Ernest Wolfe has been one of the most heavily demanded and highly regarded private educators and executive function coaches in the United States. He has spent tens of thousands of hours 1-on-1 with students, teaching every academic subject up to the AP level while simultaneously working to transform the educational outlooks of hundreds of students. Ernest Wolfe is a lifelong Angeleno who attended the Center for Early Education and Harvard-Westlake and has worked with students from every independent school in the city. In his free time, he loves experimenting with new tools and developing software to help people have fun learning and feel satisfied with their time online such as escapethealgorithm.org, Fraction Tap, Executive Student Planner, read4speed.com, mathparty.io, triforcetodos.com, mistakemate.com, and more.
